Yoga Wear Guru answers:

Deff the one that’s shown. Cuuute :)

Paul asks…

Are these okay as my carry on’s?

i don’t know if a stuffed animal counts as a carry on but here’s what i have with me

1 Laptop (in its bag… should i put the adapter in my luggage?)
1 Purse (it’s not that big, and in it i have: a book (HP5 to be precise), a magazine, iPod touch, cell phone, wallet, glasses/case, digital camera and its case, my luggage lock key and of course my passport)
and 1 stuffed animal aprox. 16 inches in height.

would those big Lululemon bags be too big as a carry on? because i’m thinking of putting my bag in there
and i meant Lululemon bag as in those shopping bags after you purchase an item… not an actual purse bag

Yoga Wear Guru answers:

Maybe, since those bags come in different sizes. The stuff animal might be a little too tall also…But everything else is fine. You can leave the adapter in its bag, but just remember to take the laptop out and put it in another bin or on the belt separately for screening.

Richard asks…

Is lululemon and tna…?

is lululemon and tna popular in the hig school scene or is it wasted money because this is what i own.
lululemon:
1 capri pant
1 still pant
4 scuba hoodies (2 are reversable)
1 headband
1 gym bag
3 thongs
4 socks
i dont own anything in tna yet but i am going to buy
is tna and lululemon become like a&f and hollister or yoga and casual wear?

a&f and hollister and ae are in canada…

Yoga Wear Guru answers:

I’m in high school and almost everyone wears tna or lululemon
some things from these stores are growing old like tna pants
but the sweater i still love
also i’ve have noticed more and more kids are wearing hollister and a&f
so everything from the states is slowly becoming a trend
honestly, wear what you want to wear..if you like lululemon pants wear them..if you like the scuba hoodies buy them, and if people don’t like them that’s there problem

Lisa asks…

How to convince parents to get you Lululemon sweatpants?? Help!?

I really, really want Lululemon sweatpants, but they are around $75 each and they are really thin, so they wont keep me warm.
I have a friend that has 9 pairs of Lululemon sweatpants, and her mother is planning to get her another one O:
Its not that my parents wont get me expensive things, they do.
They got me alot of things, such as 2 tna coats, 2 tna hoodies, tna pant, tna polo, tna scarf, tna pencil case, tna golves, tna bag, things from Hollister, Abercrombie & Fitch, American Eagle, D&G, roots, Levi’s, coach, uggs, nike, and etc.
I just dont think they will get me it, i feel bad for even asking becuz they got me soo much things already! Plus the Lululemon sweatpants are sooo thin, they will say that it wont keep me warm.

    Michael asks…

Where should I start out with my exercising?

I had a baby in May and I’m in some pretty rough shape! I spend every day all day at home with my 7 month old tot and I’m looking for some ways to get back to a healthy shape. I am 24 years old, 5’3 and before my pregnancy I was 120lbs. Now I’m 200lbs and need to get my health on track. I suffered from some thyroid imbalances after the pregnancy and with nursing I get awful hungry. The thyroid is in check now and working properly.

What are some tips for getting into shape from such a far off state? I feel sore and tired all the time and this baby is demanding more of me. So I know it is time to get this show on the road.

I don’t even know where I could find exercising clothing for a woman my size anymore. It seems like they only make work out clothing and bras for folks who are already fit, isn’t that ironic? Well I’m determined. The last two weeks I’ve been going for walks, but it’s hard now that the snow is up to our hips and it’s colder then the dark side of the moon (I’m in northern ontario canada).

Any advice, inspiration, help, encouragement would be apprecited. We don’t have the funds around here for personal training or gym memberships much less anything else. I hope to get some good ideas here!

    Thanks folks!

    Yoga Wear Guru answers:

Well you should start eating better..and not as much, i kno u can control ur hunger, and once u start controlling ur hunger, u will notice ur not gonna get hungry as much. Thats the 1st thing, the 2nd thing is they usually have home DVDs u can get at a local store like walmart, i have this thing called 10 min. Pilates..it works out everything, and anything of ur choosing. It has a choice for abs, upper body, lower body, and flexibility..i love it!! And it does really work..as long as u eat right. Look it up oline, 10 minute pilates. It comes w/ a band to help u w/ ur stamina and endurance..another good thing is running/walking. Thats wat my friend did after she had her baby, and she looks awesome..hope this helped. :)

    Sandy asks…

Why are women being raised to be so annoying?

I am a woman and I still have to admit that most women are fvcking annoying. I blame it on society. Thank God I didn’t turn out like this…

    1) Spending too much money on freaking clothes and jewelry.

Buy a damn computer or a video game instead. It is much more useful and actually mentally stimulating.

    2) Having to be “emotionally attached” to be sexually stimulated.

I mean WTF? Sex has NOTHING to do with emotions.

    3) Being too sensitive and emotional.

Women should only cry during a funeral, not at the end of a “chick flick.”

    4) Sucking at sports.

I’ve been playing sports since I was five and I’m very athletic. Perhaps women should start exercising early in life, too.

    5) Talking too much.

What’s so fun about talking 24/7?

    6) Being weak-minded and conforming to everything everyone tells them.

This is the main reason why a lot of women are fvcked up. If they stop letting other minds think for them, then they would be a lot more independent and less annoying.
LOL I’m not a man! I’ve been born and raised as a female. Just because you’re screwed up like this, doesn’t mean that there aren’t real women out there who can contribute to society.

    Yoga Wear Guru answers:

Why do you find this so annoying? I wouldn’t call these things annoying. Some of them unfortunate, perhaps, but not annoying. If you don’t like people like this, then don’t hang out with them.

    1. Spending too much money on clothes and jewelry.

An unfortunate part of living in a consumer culture. If it’s not spending too much money on clothes or jewelry, it’s spending too much money on gadgets (computers and video games). It’s nice that you enjoy those things. I enjoy both clothes shopping and video games. Seek out friends who have similar interest to you. Video games are not particularly mentally stimulating, though. Neither is a computer, depending on how you use it.

    2. Having to be “emotionally attached” to be sexually stimulated.

This is false – anyone with the appropriate plumbing can be sexually stimulated without being emotionally invested. But you’re right, women have a tendency to equate sex with love, whihc can lead to unfortunate situations when the man they’er with is just in it for the sex. However, that means that women need to be smarter about their relationships, not that sex should be totally divested of any kind of emotional investment. Why should sex be devoid of love?

    3. Being too sensitive and emotional.

It sounds a lot like you are denigrating anything that has traditionally been linked to “feminine” tendencies or traditions. Some (feminists and others) have pointed out that what we’ve managed to do is not to change attitudes, so that what is considered “feminine” is as valued as what is considered “masculine,” but to further encourage both men and women to be totally “masculine” and repress anything within themselves that is “feminine.” Yes, being overly emotional is not good. Neither is denying emotions and sensitivity. Is it that women are too emotional, or that men are not emotional enough? Part of being a healthy and well-rounded human being is acknowledging your emotional side.

    4. Sucking at sports.

You sound like a very healthy individual. You’re right, we should all be exercising more and we should all start exercising early. And, we also need to encourage girls to get involved in sports and other forms of physical exercise. However, why is being good at sports such a requirement for worthiness?

    5. Talking too much.

Again, is it that women talk too much, or that men don’t talk enough? Verbal abilities has traditionally been seen as a “feminine” value. This seems more of a personal taste thing than a fault of women.

    6. Being weak-minded and conforming to everything everyone tells them.

This one I agree with and is right on the money. However, it is not just a woman thing. I see both men and women doing this. I find it equally annoying in both sexes.

    Sandra asks…

Do you think a lot of women are depressed because these modern appliances give them so little exercise?

Back a hundred years ago, if you were a woman you had to wash the dishes individually by hand instead of having a dishwasher do them. Women also had to wash each piece of clothing by hand, spend a lot longer time preparing meals (on the farm animals had to be cut up and defeathered, milked, etc.) and many other things that kept them working hard. I think many of today’s women are depressed because they aren’t getting enough exerecise with all these modern appliances. Not only that, but it gives women a lot of free time to just sit around and be bored or just think about depressing things. Do you think it would be a good idea for women to go back to manual labor for doing these chores?

    Yoga Wear Guru answers:

Very funny. I just answered a post on this subject a few hours ago.

Men and women have different strengths and weaknesses that complement each other as part of the heterosexual contract they call marriage. The woman has the strength that comes from giving and sustaining life; the man has the strength that comes from supporting, protecting and guiding his family.

Very different strengths but very complementary. And necessary. This is the heterosexual marital contract that has existed for a millennium.

He builds the house, she builds the home. Ideally, for the strongest families, the husband goes out and works. The wife stays home and works. Her work is just more domestic.

If she works out of the home, the children are brought up by strangers, conditioned in daycares to become strangers to their parents, and … Well you get my point. Chances are the costs of childcare versus paycheck will have her at home doing what needs to be done, raising a healthy family.

My mother never complained and still managed to keep a 3 story Victorian home spotless, take complete care of all domestic functions including us 5 kids, AND have dinner on the table at 6 on the dot every night. She ironed everything, loved her dryer once they were invented, … Made up our meals 3 times a day. At one point she had three boys in diapers.. Before dryers were invented. The invention of the dryer made a LOT of difference for her.

She is very old now but this work kept her strong and healthy and she and my dad had a good relationship even if there were the usual upsets. They were in it for life, and so it was. Now, we treat her like gold for all her work. Modern appliances are definitely worth it. As a woman who raised two girls on my own, they saved me a lot of time so that I could spend more time with them.

I do not know why it is suddenly so difficult for a full time Mom to do it now? That is an honest question. Is it the high cost of living now? In my mind, if she is working all day, and he is working all day, once he is home, they share family duties and child raising. They should have it fairly worked out who does what, if need be.

Women are depressed for a lot of reasons but I don’t think it has anything to do with exercise. Chasing children, keeping a house going, chauffeuring them to sports and practices and all, shopping and meal preparation… These things take up a lot of time and energy. Oh, did I forget being part of the PTA and all the volunteer things, or homework help?

    No, Mom’s do plenty already.

Would you do that to YOUR mother?

When and if you ever marry, I assure you, you would want your wife to have some energy left at the end of the day so she doesn’t always say to you, “Sorry not tonight dear. I am just too exhausted.”

    John asks…

    Clothing IDEAS for plus-sized women?!!?

I guess you could call me plus-sized, Im a size 16. Im 19 years old and have started a new “regime” if you like on an aim to lose some purdy weight but at the moment all I wear is skinny jeans and uggs with a top. Uggs are annoying sometimes and I cant walk in them for long periods of time (Im guessing thats because my feet are arched? I can walk in heels anytime) So my main problem is I want to walk around (not obviously exercising) but I can only think of trainers to walk in with jeans.
Without sounding stupid, trainers hate me.
Maybe it is because they are flat? I don’t know.
    So urm, yes please help!
Im hourglass shape if that helps? Im looking for an “outfit” I can wear while walking but not joggies or something that makes it obvious that Im working out… If that makes any sense?
    LOLs.
    Please and thank you (:

    Robert asks…

Is it okay for women to wear tighter/more revealing clothing than they would normally wear when exercising?

Or should they still try to be modest? I personally think that girls should try to avoid working out when guys are around just to be on the safe side. It’s an open invitation to sin. What do you think?

    http://www.therebelution.com/modestysurvey/browse

Click on “General/Other” and then “It is okay for girls to wear tighter and/or more revealing clothes if they are working out.

    Yoga Wear Guru answers:

I think your obsession with what you consider to be sinful situations is a . . . Well, sign of deeper problems.

What a person wears is their decision. How you view what they wear is your problem.

Some people are more comfortable in sweats. Others are more comfortable in tights (largely for the feeling of support). Take your pick.

Your Questions About Yoga Clothes For Men

      Paul asks…

What does this introduction about me look like to you?

I was raised by a very Italian man whose name would have been Salvatore Cannizzo and he will be remembered as such in my eyes. He was a good father, excellent provider and a good businessman. Hence, he influences me everyday and when I work, I can hear him. As a family, we owned and operated an Italian Restaurant in Homestead Florida in the 80′s. I grew up in Homestead Florida, where hurricane Andrew obliterated my home town neiborhood (I wasnt’ there when it happened). In Florida, I learned to like the beach, oysters, Jimmy Buffet, and lots of swimming. If I had stayed in Florida, I would have turned into a dope-smokin, mango eatin, deep-sea fishin, scuba-divin, hammock sleepin parrothead. I was good at track in high school and ran the hurdles. My good father is poor and lives somewhere in rural Okeechobbee. My good mother is semi-quasi rich and own a million dollar home in Urban Orlando. With all that I experienced in Florida, living in Montana has really taught me to appricate a nice weather day when it happens. I have typical generation x values: I distrust big institutions that I don’t know about, I don’t like living by too many rules, I am a non-conformist, I don’t like it when people wear the same clothes as me, I did (at one point as a teenager) have an identity crisis. I reject status, money and social climbing so typical of baby-boomers. I personally only want what I want out of life and since luxury is alot cheaper, I only have to worry about having fun at work and enjoying what I do. I put a higher priority on happiness. I HATE lables. I can’t stand them. I definetely embrace risk and I am highly independent, sometimes aloof. It has been said that I lack interpersonal skills but that maybe because I do from time to time. I place a high priority on parenting and I think I might have overindulged my children. Oh, Well, I’ll work on that. Im not a work-a-holic but I do try to work hard if I really want something.

      Nancy asks…

What are the limits of your acceptance regarding male grooming…?

      Regarding mine.
-I trim my beard (every other day), I find a shadow look good on me
-I shave my chest and my stomach (every week). I find that it defines my pectorals and my abdominal muscles better
      - I Don’t shave my arms or legs, most guys I go to the gym with do it. I do however trim my armpits( every other week)
      - I don’t have hair on my back so no need to do anything there, but if I had I would do something about it :)
      - I trim my pubic hairs (every week)
      - I get a haircut (every 3 weeks)
      - Due to the nature of my work/education I find that getting a male manicure is accepted. I work with patients in a hospital and I need to have clean hands (monthly)
      - I use facial cream when I have an occasional outbreak in my face.
      - I Use hand cream constantly, (maybe 2 or 3 times a day). In my defense, it is also a antibacterial
      - I pluck my eyebrows, (every 2 weeks) yes I have an unibrow, but I just pluck the middle part, I don’t like feminine eyebrows in a man
      - I do enjoy shopping for clothe and have a great deal of them in my closet, (when I had time I would go every other week to the store). But most recently all my shopping has been carried out by my girlfriend, she knows my taste
      - I have a diet (5 days a week) weekends are off. I do however eat kosher, I’m jewish
      - I do yoga (every other day)
      - I exercise (run 30 min) every morning, or evening depending on my schedule for that week, but I only go to the gym twice a week.
      - I like to have a tan, and during the summer (which is about 8 months out of the year here in miami) I go to the beach often. No tanning beds for me (I live blocks from the beach so I go almost every week, but I don’t use protective lotion when I feel that I need a tan, so maybe I tan 2 or 3 times a month
      - I get teeth whitening (every 7-9 months) depending on my dentist
      - I get teeth cleaning (every 5 months)

And that’s all I can think of. Took me a while tho

I am asking about your taste. My girlfriend love that I take this much care of myself so there is no problem between us. But I have had girlfriend that find my grooming a little extensive for a guy.

What about you. What are the limits of your acceptance regarding male grooming?
The second time I ask this. Just curious.

      Yoga Wear Guru answers:

Damn, wow. I’ve never seen a guy who takes this much pride in looking even halfway decent. I guess, guys my age could careless about their appearance. That’s pretty good, keep it up.

What should I do about my friend??

I have been friends with my friend for 20 years but we have NOTHING in common and I find it increasingly hard to be friends. All we do is go shopping, mention any other activities and she doesn’t want to know, just shopping. I hate shopping!!! We were friends at junior school, went to different senior schools, had minimal contact, resumed our friendship after leaving school. I think, deep in my heart, we should have gone to our different schools and that’s that, coz she gets funny if she see’s me with other people, but she still does her own thing with her friends. She loves clothes and make-up, I love nature and yoga!!! I feel she is holding me back as I can’t make new friends, when I have boyfriends she always flirts with them. And if we go out and my friends are with me she always grabs my arm and links arm as if I am her property!!! Plus, she thinks that EVERY man in the pub fancies her, it is getting too embarassing to listen to!!! What should I do??

How can I convince my husband to let me hire an ethnic live-in cabana boy?

I am looking for an 18-22 yr old, exotic, non-caucasian, physically fit, scantily clad, live-in house keeper who will work for free. My husband does not agree because he feels we would be exploiting him and that would be bad karma. I will not treat him like a slave, even though he will have to do our chores and clean our pool, he will be getting a lot in return such as a room a to call his own with wifi and satellite and ps3 and a yoga mat, daily meals with our family, I will keep him well clothed and pampered, he will come on family vacations, and I will service him sexually several times a week…the only catch is that my husband will be watching. This is not exploitation at all, I am an experienced, spiritual, sexy 38 yr old milf with lots of love and passion to share. This kid will be thankful that I am putting a roof over his head and giving him the experience of a life time, a real sexual education…which is priceless. But how can I convince my husband of this? He doesn’t mind me banging other men since we are swingers, and he does not mind having a housekeeper, he just it feels this would be bad karma and would bring negative spiritual cords to our house if we do not pay him. I do not want to pay him because we are on a budget, and I don’t feel he would deserve the money since he would be getting all the things I mentioned above. So what do you guys think? Advice please…how do you guys deal with such problems in your marriages, and do you think this would be bad karma? Thank you and namaste.

        John asks…

Could someone help me figure this out?

Well, basically i’m just wondering why clothing designers and people associated in making the clothing don’t consider people that are short?

I mean, i’m 5’2 and I went to Victoria’s Secret today and got a pair of lounge pants, like yoga pants, and they are amazingly long.

Same with every other purchase I make unless it says *short*, or if I go to buckle and get my jeans in a short length.

So, shorter people always have to end up paying more to find pants that fit them. I, personally, find it frustrating.

So, why do designers do this?

        Thank you in advance.

        Yoga Wear Guru answers:

        Hey there.
Well the average woman in America is 5′ 4″.
So a little taller than you.

And elongating clothes makes you look thinner, so people will like a certain brand of clothes if it elongated and slims them… So more $$

        James asks…

Why did I stop losing weight?

I have been on Weight Watchers for 2 years and I lost 55 pounds. I still have 40 – 50 to lose. I have never been a very active person and never exercised. Three weeks ago, I started exercising regularly (yoga, strength training, and aerobics). Since I started exercising, I haven’t lost any weight, in fact, a slight gain. I expected to see a noticeable weight loss with exercise. I do have more energy and I notice my clothes fitting a little looser, but the scale shows me different. Why?

        Yoga Wear Guru answers:

Continue eating less obviously. You need to maintain your muscle by getting stronger because muscle burns more calories, fat doesn’t. You need to burn more calories, do cardio at least three times a week. Eating healthy is a key and eating the same thing everyday helps get you into a routine. And the most important part is to keep yourself motivated. Set goals and track your progress.
Your body may have plateaued, if so change the exercises your doing. Drink a lot of water also to help with weight loss.
You should start losing weight don’t lose focus and keep motivated…it may take some time.

        Jenny asks…

Why am I eating more and more often?

I noticed that since it’s winter time, I’ve been eating more?? I don’t think i’m gaining weight though, all my clothes are fitting very loose and someone could even take my pants down haha. I do the same amount of dancing, yoga, and jogging since September but why am I eating more?! Is it the weather? I am really paranoid about gaining weight cuz I need to lose 10 pounds but I’m always hungry and I feel like food is just passing through my body???!

        Yoga Wear Guru answers:

Unlike the other answerers, who are just trying to tell you how to lose weight, i would like to actually answer your question. Since it is winter, you WILL eat more because of the glycogen levels in your bloodsteam is high, because of the cold weather. Because you do yoga and other activities, the extra food that you are eating is being converted to lean muscle, which is why you are not gaining weight. It is normal, so don’t worry about it, k? ;)

Is it bad to wear yoga pants daily?

So I am a teenager and I’ve been really loving yoga pants. Especially because I’ve been going to the gym and that means less time for me to change my outfit before gym sense I’m already in my comfy yoga pants. Is it bad to wear them daily? I don’t wear like the main kind like the plain ones from like Kohls, I wear cute ones like these .. : http://www.loveculture.com/Item/ItemDetailView.aspx?StyleId=1024277

Most of mine are even more decorative. So is it bad to wear yoga pants daily? Not the same pair of course though.

          Yoga Wear Guru answers:

Nothing wrong with that. I wear sweat pants all the time. Nothing wrong at all. It’s fun wearing yoga pants and sweat pants. You’re not alone so no worry. :)

          Chris asks…

How old should you be when you start to wear thongs?

I am in the eighth grade and i was wondering if that is too young. I do not want to be slutty or anything its just that when i wear yoga pants or anything tight i feel really self conscious about panty lines. I know that my mom would be okay with it, but I just don’t know how to ask her.

          Yoga Wear Guru answers:

You are not too young to begin wearing thongs, especially since you are interested in the fact that that they don’t show panty lines rather than their sexual appeal. Just tell your mom that you enjoy wearing yoga pants because they are comfortable but sometimes they cause you to feel self-conscious because you feel like you have panty lines. I am sure she will be glad to let you try out some thongs to solve this issue. Just always be careful to make sure that your thong never shows out of the top of your pants and causes you to have a “whale tale”- this is very trashy looking when teens go around like this.
